It is clear that Mercury is closer to the sun than Venus. Why is Venus dried and mercury has hundreds of millions of tons of ice?
Scientists once placed great hopes on Venus, because they thought that there might be life on this planet, but this is not the case. However, when the human probe actually arrived at Venus, it found that the environment here was quite different from that of the earth.
The surface temperature of Venus can reach more than 500 degrees centigrade. How can there be life under such a high temperature? Human beings can’t survive at all. It’s a hell on earth. In the high temperature of 500 degrees Celsius, all the water has been evaporated, and there is no trace of water on this planet.
What makes Venus hot
You should have guessed that the reason why Venus has become what it is now is that it is too close to the sun, because the earth is constantly emitting light and heat. However, the distance between Venus and the sun is too close, and the light and heat are constantly absorbed, so Venus becomes a hot fireball. Many people have a big question mark in their mind when they see that the nearest planet to the sun in the solar system is not Venus, but mercury. However, in a mercury exploration, scientists found that there are 100 billion tons of ice on this planet. Why is mercury closer to the sun than Venus, and there will be ice on it? It’s obvious that Venus isn’t baked at all.
The difference of atmosphere
In fact, the reason for this phenomenon is very simple. The reason why Venus becomes a hot planet with a surface temperature of 500 degrees Celsius is that Venus has a thick atmosphere. When the sun shines on Venus, these atmospheres can lock up the heat brought by the sun and bring it to the surface of Venus with the flow of air. After billions of years of long-term exposure, it received more and more heat, forming the present picture.
Mercury, on the contrary, although it is close enough to the sun, mercury has no atmosphere. As a result, the temperature in the area directly illuminated by the sun on Mercury is relatively high, while the temperature in the area not illuminated by the sun is relatively low. The fact also proves that the temperature difference on Mercury is very large, which can reach 520 ℃ when it is high and minus 180 ℃ when it is low.
The status quo of Venus
In 1973, after a long journey to mercury, NASA’s probe found a shadow area in the north and south poles of mercury, where 100 billion ice exists. In 1991, a lot of strange bright spots were found on mercury, which also implied the possibility of a lot of ice on mercury, but there is another possibility, that is, the formation of sulfur, because sulfur dioxide will also form some bright spots. Among the eight planets in the solar system, the environment of each planet is different, and their existence is reasonable. What’s your opinion on this issue?
