The solar system is not only the home of the earth, but also the home of human survival. In the center of the solar system, there is a huge burning sphere, which is the sun. The sun is the core of the solar system, is the real boss, without the super mass of the sun, there will be no stable solar system environment.
The reason why the earth can give birth to life and human beings is closely related to the sun. It is precisely because the earth is in the habitable zone, with the appropriate sunlight, we have the appropriate temperature, which is a very important condition for the birth of life, and the existence of life on earth is inseparable from the sun.
There is only one sun in the solar system. Besides, there are eight planets. In addition to the rocky planets like the earth, there are gas giant planets mainly composed of gas, such as Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, and it has a big gap compared with the sun. However, compared with the earth, it is naturally a giant. The mass of Jupiter is 318 times that of the earth, and its volume is 1321 times that of the earth.
Jupiter is a gas giant planet, and its main atmospheric component is hydrogen, just like the sun, so scientists also call it a failed star. Through research, scientists found that stars were born from clouds. Five billion years ago, the direction of the solar system was not the same as the solar system, it was just a cloud. The matter in the center of the nebula began to condense and form the original celestial bodies.
After the formation of celestial bodies, they begin to absorb and condense the objects around them, and the mass becomes larger and larger. When the mass reaches a certain degree, it will ignite the nuclear fusion reaction at the center, and grow from a gas giant planet to a star. So before the sun ignites the central fusion, it’s just a giant gaseous planet. This is very similar to Jupiter.
Someone might say, when did Jupiter form? Why didn’t it ignite the fusion at the center? In fact, Jupiter formed only a little later than the sun. When the sun’s first celestial body was formed, Jupiter was born. It also gave birth to the center of the nebula. Early Jupiter was near the sun.
However, because the sun formed earlier and absorbed more and faster material, it became a star earlier. In order to promote the birth of the sun, most of the material in the center of the original nebula was absorbed by the sun, while Jupiter absorbed only part of it. At the same time, after the birth of the sun, the strong solar wind, gravity began to repel the nearby celestial material, so Jupiter was thrown out, away from the sun.
Jupiter, far away from the sun, began to stabilize further away. As there was no more material for it to absorb, Jupiter eventually became a gas giant, not able to ignite the nuclear fusion in the center and become another star. If Jupiter ignites nuclear fusion and becomes a star, what impact will it have on human survival?
Some people may think that one sun in the solar system is enough for us. If we have another sun, won’t it be too hot? Is that really the case? If Jupiter becomes a star, the solar system will have two suns. During the day, we will see two suns hanging in the sky, one is very bright, the other is relatively dim.
Jupiter is four times as far away from the earth as the sun. Even if it becomes a star, it is also a distant star for the earth. Moreover, if Jupiter is just born to meet the conditions of star birth, its mass is far less than that of the sun. At most, it can only be regarded as a red dwarf star. The surface temperature of this kind of star is lower, which can not be compared with the yellow dwarf star of the sun.
In this way, the heat generated by Jupiter will reach the earth very little, and the total energy we receive may be only 1 / 5000 of that of the sun. Such a small amount of energy has very little impact on the life of the earth. Of course, it’s impossible to say that it has no impact on the earth’s ecology and life. You should know that the impact of Jupiter’s becoming a star will not only reach the energy of the earth, but also have a certain impact on the structure of the entire solar system.
If Jupiter wants to become a star, even if it is a relatively dark star, it is far from enough to rely on its current mass, and a large part of its mass needs to be added. The great increase of mass leads to the increase of gravity. Once Jupiter’s gravity increases a lot, the impact on its surrounding celestial bodies will naturally intensify, which may affect the entire asteroid belt and the orbit of Mars.
Once Jupiter becomes a star, the first influence is the asteroid belt. You should know that the star is very domineering. Its strong solar wind and gravity do not allow a large number of small bodies around it. Therefore, at that time, the asteroid belt will be cleaned up. Some asteroids will be pulled into it by Jupiter’s attraction, and the other part will be pushed out to become wandering asteroids.
Once the asteroids in the asteroid belt leave the original orbit, the threat to the earth will naturally increase, and the asteroid impact on the earth may occur. Therefore, although the energy produced by Jupiter as a star has little impact on the life of the earth, the indirect impact may seriously threaten the safety of the life of the earth.
Of course, it is not necessarily no good for Jupiter to become a star. The direct benefit planet is Mars. You should know that Mars is relatively close to Jupiter. Once Jupiter becomes a star, the temperature of Mars will continue to rise, which may become a warm environment similar to the earth. When Mars has the right temperature, the ice at the poles will continue to melt, and other water ice will continue to melt, which will bring new life to Mars.
Mars has always been the future migration planet that scientists are looking forward to, but the environment of Mars is not suitable for human survival. If you want to survive on Mars, you need to improve the Martian environment. To improve the Martian environment, you need to make Mars have a suitable temperature and light. It is very difficult for Mars to have a suitable light and temperature through the power of science and technology.
But if Jupiter becomes a star, then this important condition will be met naturally. At that time, it will be easier and faster for human beings to transform Mars. It will make Mars the second home of mankind earlier. Thus, it can be seen that Jupiter has become a star, which is of great benefit to human beings. At least it can give us one more home.
Even better, it would make several of Jupiter’s icy moons suitable for human existence. You know, there are several moons of Jupiter in the world of ice, the surface is covered by ice, and it has a very good ecological environment. It’s just that the planet’s temperature is too low for human survival. If Jupiter becomes a star, the ice layer on these icy moons will continue to melt, becoming a very good liquid water planet, and its living environment may be even better than Mars.
Of course, the above is just a kind of beautiful fantasy. Jupiter can not become a star in the present solar system environment. Even if other celestial bodies collide with Jupiter in the future, it can not meet the mass conditions for the birth of a star. Unless Jupiter and Saturn collide and merge, there may be a glimmer of hope. However, if there is a collision between Jupiter and Saturn in the solar system, it will be a catastrophe and life on earth may come to an end. So, it’s best to keep the current stable state. For us, there is only one sun.
