Can man survive on Mars for a long time? The reality is cruel, and the future of mankind lies in the extraterrestrial system

The rapid development of industry has brought the continuous leap of science and technology to human beings, which not only makes our quality of life higher and higher, but also enables human beings to go out of the earth and begin to explore the universe. Everything has both advantages and disadvantages. The rapid development of science and technology also has disadvantages, that is, the continuous destruction of the earth’s ecology.

Today’s earth environment and the ecological environment before industry have undergone great changes, and the environmental deterioration is more and more serious. Many scientists believe that the earth will no longer be suitable for human survival in the future. When the earth deteriorates to the point where it can’t adapt to human survival, if human civilization wants to continue, it has to go out of the earth and transfer to the outer planet. So is it easy to emigrate? Of course, it’s not easy. There are a lot of difficulties. Human body is very fragile in the cosmic environment, unable to navigate for a long time.

Although there are innumerable galaxies, innumerable earth like planets in the universe, and there are many natural habitable planets for human beings to live in, due to various limitations, the second home of human beings in the future may only be found in the solar system. So is there a second habitable planet in the solar system? The answer is No.

There are three livable planets in the solar system, namely Venus, earth and Mars. Only earth is a natural livable planet. The other two planets, one is purgatory world and the other is desert world, are not suitable for human survival. Although the reality is very cruel, but the earth’s deteriorating environment and some doomsday events may occur in the future, human beings must also go out, can not put eggs in a blue box, otherwise it may be a pot.

Therefore, it is necessary for us to find a second home for human beings in the solar system. Although there is no natural second planet suitable for human survival, scientists have found that Mars has many similarities with the earth. Through the transformation of science and technology, it may become a second home for human beings. So can humans survive on Mars for a long time?

Let’s take a look at the data of Mars. Mars is one of the four earth like planets in the solar system. It is a red planet. The Martian atmosphere is dominated by carbon dioxide, which is thin and cold. It is full of impact craters, canyons, sand dunes and gravel. There is no stable liquid water. This environment is similar to the earth’s desert, so we also call Mars desert world.

The density of Mars’ atmosphere is only about 1% of that of the earth. It is very dry and has a low temperature. The average surface temperature is – 55 ℃. The mass of Mars is much smaller than that of the earth, about one ninth of that of the earth, so the gravity of Mars is only 0.375 times that of the earth.

Such a Martian environment is very bad for human beings. We can’t survive on it. However, through decades of continuous exploration and Research on Mars, scientists have found that the ancient Mars was not the same as it is now, but a beautiful ecological planet like the earth, and there may have been life.

The foundation of Mars is very good. It used to be an ecological planet. However, some changes happened later. The magnetic field weakened greatly and almost disappeared. The atmosphere became very thin and the liquid water on the surface basically disappeared. Gradually, it became the desolation now.

With these relatively good basic conditions, the possibility of Mars being successfully transformed will be very high. With the continuous progress of human science and technology, scientists are still full of hope for the transformation of Mars, and now Mars is not without water, there is still water in the north and south poles of Mars, and scientists speculate that there may be reserves of water resources beyond the surface of Mars.

So when we transform Mars into a livable planet, can we survive on Mars for a long time? It can also be very difficult. Why? In fact, these are related to the foundation of Mars.

After introducing the Martian environment, we know that although Mars has a magnetic field, it is very weak and the atmosphere is very thin. The importance of magnetic field for human beings, I believe we all know that the universe has a variety of high-energy particles, radiation, whether it is solar radiation or other cosmic radiation, the impact on human beings is very big.

The earth we live on has a strong magnetic field and a thick atmosphere, so it can effectively prevent these cosmic radiation and high-energy particles from attacking the surface. However, the radiation energy on the surface of the moon is 400 times that of the earth, and the radiation on the surface of Mars is equivalent to two-thirds of that on the surface of the moon. In such a high radiation environment, human health will be affected.

In addition, the gravity of Mars is only about one third of that of the earth, and the impact of such a gravity environment on human beings is obvious. You should know that the universe is in the cosmic microgravity environment. If you stay for a long time, your body will go wrong. Human beings have lived in the environment of the earth for millions of years, and genes have been branded on the earth’s ecological environment.

Once we leave this environment, our bodies will have problems. Therefore, the most suitable planet for human survival should be very similar to the environment of the earth. The basic conditions of Mars can not meet these requirements. Of course, through the force of science and technology, we can change the structure of the Martian atmosphere, greatly reduce carbon dioxide and increase oxygen content, so that human beings can breathe freely on the surface of Mars.

At the same time, planting a large number of plants on Mars can also improve the desolate environment on the surface of Mars and make it a green planet step by step. But even if these changes, we can’t change the mass of Mars, we can’t increase the thickness of the atmosphere, and we can’t strengthen the magnetic field of Mars. Because the size of Mars’ magnetic field is closely related to its core, unless we can enter the core to strengthen the movement of the core, but to achieve this goal, we need very strong scientific and technological strength.

From the above, we can see that even if Mars is successfully transformed by human beings, it will not be a long-term home. What’s more, Mars is much smaller than the earth, and it can’t accommodate the increasing population of human beings. Therefore, Mars is only an alternative temporary home for human beings, and the real hope lies in the extraterrestrial system.

There are hundreds of billions of stars and trillions of planets in the galaxy, many of which are earth like planets similar to the earth. It’s not surprising that there are natural habitable planets that are close to the earth’s environment. Such a planet is a better home for human beings. We should strive for this goal.

Of course, it is not an easy thing to realize interstellar navigation. The long interstellar travel has a great impact on human body. If we can’t solve the problems of cosmic radiation and spacecraft gravity, then interstellar navigation will be empty talk and can’t be realized at all. Of course, the power of science and technology is far from enough. As long as we work hard to develop, all our good wishes can be realized. Perhaps in the near future, human beings will live happily on other planets in the extraterrestrial system, and we are looking forward to this arrival.
