NASA exoplanet probe will be launched, scientists: the main task is to find a new earth

The universe is vast. The solar system is just a galaxy on the edge of the Milky way. Scientists have always believed that the earth is not the only living planet in such a vast universe. There may be countless intelligent life and alien civilization in the universe. Therefore, in the past half century, human beings have launched many probes to search for aliens in the universe, but so far nothing has been found.

Human beings have been exploring the solar system for many years. Scientists say that there are no aliens in the solar system. Even if there is life, there may be such microbes. There is no planet suitable for human beings in the solar system. If you want to find aliens and earth like planets, you have to go out of the solar system. At present, there are only voyager-1 and voyager-2 extrasolar probes 50 years ago, which may have gone out of the solar system. However, the space technology 50 years ago is still in its infancy, and there are still some backwardness. Now the space technology has made great progress. The human class plans to send extrasolar probes again to look for life and earth like planets.

NASA is scheduled to launch a probe satellite on the evening of 16 local time to search for extrasolar planets, hoping to find “another Earth” that may give birth to life. The satellite is called “transit exoplanet survey satellite”, which is abbreviated as “Tess” in English. Tess is 1.5 meters high, with a diameter of about 1.3 meters and a weight of 363 kg when the solar wings or solar panels are folded up. It is smaller than most space exploration satellites. According to NASA, it’s between the size of a refrigerator and a “washing and drying machine.”.

Don’t belittle “Tess”, its function is very strong. It concentrates the essence of the current space technology. Its main mission is to scan more than 200 thousand “nearest and brightest” stars outside the solar system in the next two years to confirm whether there are planets revolving around them. NASA expects to find 20000 exoplanets, of which more than 50 are “earth size” and up to 500 are “less than twice the size of the earth.”.

Tess is equipped with four advanced wide-angle lenses. The observed space area is 350 times larger than Kepler’s, and the observed stars are “30 to 100 times brighter” than Kepler’s on average.

Human science and technology are constantly improving, and space technology is also constantly improving. The solar system is no longer satisfied with the goal of human exploration. Only when we go out of the solar system can we broaden our horizons. After all, our solar system is on the edge of the universe and can only be regarded as a small village. Only when we move from the countryside to the city can we increase our knowledge and develop scientific and technological civilization faster.

The closer we are to the center of the galaxy, the richer the resources and the more civilizations we have. We haven’t found any aliens in or around the solar system. The main reason is that we are in a remote place, and alien civilizations don’t want to come here. After the lower civilization develops to the higher civilization, with the ability of interstellar navigation, we will move to the center of the galaxy. That’s probably why we can’t find aliens.

Only when we get out of the solar system, we may see a different sky. There are a lot of extraterrestrial planets, and the estimated number of extraterrestrial civilizations is also quite large. At that time, it was estimated that aliens were not uncommon. Moreover, when we get out of the solar system and get in touch with extraterrestrial civilizations, we can also have scientific and technological exchanges. Without exchanges, there will be no progress I want to get out.
