Millions of years ago, human beings were born, and the earth began to change constantly because of the birth of human beings. Some people may say that human beings are also a member of the earth’s biosphere. What impact can the birth of human beings have on the earth? If this question had been raised tens of thousands of years ago, many people might have felt that the birth of human beings only added one member to the earth’s biosphere and would not have much impact on the earth.
But now, I believe many people know that the birth of human beings has a great influence on the earth. This influence is not developing in a good direction, but in a bad direction. Before the birth of human beings, the ecological environment of the earth was really beautiful. The whole ecosystem has maintained a complete balance. Although there are more than millions of organisms, it has not damaged the ecological balance of the earth.
However, after the birth of human beings, the earth’s ecosystem is gradually out of balance and deteriorating. Human activities make the earth’s life worse step by step. Some people may think that the deterioration of the earth’s ecology began when mankind entered the era of science and technology and a large number of industrial development. But in fact, as early as tens of thousands of years ago, human activities have been constantly destroying the ecological balance of the earth, but at that time, the number of human beings was still relatively small, and there was no industry, so the pollution was not too serious.
Moreover, the earth itself has a certain ecological recovery capacity, and the damaged part of the ecology can continue to recover itself. Even so, the activities of ancient human beings still destroyed the ecology of some parts of the earth, and lost the green and vitality. For example, the Sahara desert, the largest desert in the world, covers an area of 9 million square kilometers, almost catching up with the area of China.
Once upon a time, the Sahara desert was not as desolate as it is now, but a beautiful oasis. Later, our ancestors discovered this place and began to live here, and gradually turned it into a desert. Thus we can see how serious the damage of human activities to the environment is. As human beings enter the era of civilization and usher in a period of rapid development, the number of people is increasing, and the ecological damage to the earth is also aggravating.
If human beings have not entered the era of science and technology, it will take a very long time for manual activities to destroy the environment. It may take at least tens of thousands of years to make the earth desolate. But hundreds of years ago, human civilization finally entered the road of scientific and technological development through efforts. The emergence of industry liberated people’s hands. At this time, human civilization also ushered in the era of science and technology.
The rapid development of science and technology has indeed brought great opportunities to human civilization. Not only people’s living standards are getting higher and higher, but also the emergence of various kinds of science and technology has enabled us to have more understanding of the mysteries of all things in the world. More importantly, we have finally stepped out of the earth and begun to explore the mysteries of the universe.
Science and technology has brought all kinds of benefits to human beings, and made human civilization achieve a qualitative leap. But the rapid development of science and technology for the ecological environment is a disaster, the emergence of a large number of industries has brought a lot of ecological pollution, the earth’s ecology is also deteriorating step by step. Hawking once predicted that the time left by the earth to mankind may be only a few hundred years.
If the earth becomes a planet that is no longer suitable for human beings, what should we do? The only way out is to leave the earth and emigrate to other planets. Scientists just saw the crisis of the earth and human beings, so they began to explore earth like planets after human beings walked out of the earth. Although there are eight planets in the solar system, only the earth is a green planet of life, and other planets are not suitable for human survival.
There must be a large number of livable planets outside the solar system, but due to the limitation of science and technology, even if we find a blue planet a few light years away from the earth, we can’t go there. If we want to achieve interstellar migration, human technology may need to develop to a few thousand years or more. However, the deterioration of the earth’s ecology has been unable to make human beings wait so long.
Therefore, scientists have focused on the possibility of planet transformation in the solar system. Mars is the first planet highly concerned by scientists. In the past half century, mankind has done the most research and understanding on Mars. Now, we have found water and organic matter on Mars, but we still haven’t found any life on Mars.
In the eyes of scientists, Mars is very likely to become the second livable planet for human beings. As long as it is reformed, it may become the second earth. However, Mars also has congenital weak heat, that is, there is no magnetic field. It is very important to know that the magnetic field is very important for human survival. It is the earth’s magnetic field that enables us to live safely and steadily.
The role of magnetic field is very powerful. It can not only firmly bind the atmosphere and prevent it from escaping into space, but also prevent the invasion of solar wind and other cosmic radiation to the earth. We should know that the weak human body can not resist the strong radiation of the sun. It is precisely because of the importance of magnetic field for human survival that scientists take it as an important reference when exploring habitable planets.
Unfortunately, Mars and Venus have no magnetic field, so is there a better planet in the solar system than Mars, suitable for human survival? The answer is yes. In fact, when scientists explored Jupiter, they did not expect that Jupiter’s moons would become the hope of mankind. As we all know, Jupiter is the largest gas giant planet in the solar system. Because of its great gravity, there are a lot of satellites.
Among so many satellites, some are far beyond scientists’ expectation. It turns out that there are abundant water resources on them. Among them, Ganymede makes scientists excited. Why? It turns out that Ganymede has a very good ecosystem.
Ganymede is the largest satellite in the solar system, about half the mass of mercury, mainly composed of silicate rock and ice. Through observation and research, scientists found that Ganymede has an iron rich, mobile core. It is probably because it has a flowing metal core that Ganymede has a good magnetic field, which is the only satellite in the solar system that has a magnetic field.
We have talked about the importance of magnetic field to human ecology. Now we see magnetic field on Ganymede. What exciting news. And scientists through observation, also found that there is oxygen in Ganymede, which is necessary for human survival. At least water resources, not to mention, Ganymede is a water ball, the surface is covered by thick ice, under the ice is a huge ocean.
According to observational analysis, Ganymede has about 35 billion cubic kilometers of water, compared with 1386 million cubic kilometers of water on earth and 2.6 billion cubic kilometers on Europa. The amount of water in Ganymede’s ocean is about 35 times that of the earth. What an amazing number.
Of course, Ganymede has been out of the habitable zone, where the temperature is relatively low, and the ultra-low temperature environment is not suitable for human beings. However, the temperature factor is not a big deal for scientists. With the continuous progress of human science and technology, there are many ways to heat up a planet in the future. What really excites scientists about Ganymede is its magnetic field and oxygen content, which are excellent congenital factors. Mars does not have these two factors.
Therefore, as long as humans solve the problem of planet warming in the future, the difficulty of transforming Ganymede is far less than that of transforming Mars. It is possible that in the future, Ganymede will become the first planet for human migration, while Mars may only be in the second place. Of course, this is just a helpless move before human beings become an interstellar civilization. Once human beings have the ability of interstellar navigation, it is the best policy to go out of the solar system and explore natural and livable planets, rather than spend huge manpower and material resources to transform a planet.
