Scientists have found a planet that shouldn’t exist, 31 light-years away, 150 times larger than the earth

The vast universe is too big for us to imagine. In such a vast universe, there are countless kinds of celestial bodies, among which stars and planets are the most common. Stars and planets are basically in the accompanying state, where there are stars, there are basically a number of planets around it. There are only a few stray stars and planets, which fly separately and have no fixed orbit.

So how are stars and planets born? According to the continuous observation and research of scientists, stars and planets are born in nebulae composed of a large amount of dust. After the big bang, through continuous evolution, a large number of nebula clusters were formed, which gathered a large number of dust objects.

Under the action of gravity, the center of the star cluster first gives birth to the initial celestial body, and then the celestial body constantly draws the nebular dust to it through its own gravity. Therefore, once the initial celestial body is born in the center of the star cluster, the distribution of the nebular dust objects will change greatly, and the material near the center will become more and more dense, and the material far away from the center will be less and less .

It is precisely because stars and planets are born in star clouds that the mass of stars can also indicate the size of early nebula. The larger the nebula is, the larger the mass of theoretically formed stars will be. At the same time, relatively large planets can form around them. In fact, this is well understood. If the dust objects in the nebula are too small, it is impossible to form relatively large stars and planets.

Therefore, in the theory of planet formation put forward by scientists, the mass of a planet is in normal proportion to the star it revolves around. It is unlikely that there is a very small star with an incredibly large planet around it. Through a large number of observations, scientists have basically confirmed the correctness of the existing theory of planet formation.

However, the universe is so mysterious that it often breaks some of the inherent theories of human beings, and things that can’t exist constantly appear. The traditional theory of planet formation has been broken again with a new discovery by scientists. What’s the matter? The original team of Swiss, Spanish and German astronomers, using the telescope of Calar Alto Observatory in southern Spain, discovered a non-existent planet, gj3512b, about 31 light-years away from the earth.

The newly discovered planet is located in a galaxy called gj3512, which is a small galaxy, not as big as our solar system. Galaxy novels show that its star is also relatively small. Through observation, we found that it is only a small red dwarf with dim color. The galaxy gj3512 is only 31 light-years away from the earth and is a neighbor of the solar system.

According to preliminary observations, the planet gj3512b is composed of huge clouds of gas and dust. It orbits the main star once every 204 days. Observations show that the mass of gj3512b is about 46% of that of Jupiter, while the mass of its orbiting red dwarf star is about 12% of that of the sun. In the solar system, the mass of the sun is about 1050 times that of Jupiter, while in the gj3512 galaxy, the mass of the main star is only 250 times that of gj3512b.

This ratio of planets to stars breaks the existing theoretical model of stars. According to scientists, this is a planet that should not exist. However, the real observation data show that the planets that should not exist have appeared. The so-called existence is reasonable. No matter what the stellar theory is, since this giant planet gj3512b appears next to a very small star, its existence is reasonable.

Scientists naturally accept that there is a reasonable scenario for gj3512b, so how such an incredible planet was formed? We should know that the size of the early nebula of gj3512 galaxy can only form a red dwarf star with 12% of the mass of the sun, and the planets born around it should be relatively small, and theoretically the largest will not exceed the earth. The reason is simple: there is not enough material in the nebula for it to absorb.

Scientists have put forward a theory that gj3512b belongs to abnormal formation, which may be caused by the collapse of dust and rock disks around the star under the gravitational action of the star. When the dust and rocks gather together due to the star’s gravity, they will pile up until they are large enough to maintain their own gas atmosphere, and the planet is born. But the team did a simulation, and the results showed that gj3512b could not be formed in this way. So another explanation might be the gravitational instability of stars.

It’s really abnormal that a super planet with a mass 150 times larger than that of the earth appears beside a star with a mass 8 times smaller than that of the sun. No wonder scientists say it’s a planet that shouldn’t have existed. But since it really exists, we can only accept the reality and uncover the mystery of its existence.

For the formation of this giant planet, although scientists have put forward their own views that it may be caused by the gravitational instability of the star, we do not know what the real situation is. After the discovery of this planet was announced, the vast number of astronomy enthusiasts also put forward their own bold conjectures. Some people think that there is nothing incomprehensible about the appearance of super large planets around small stars.

What if the dust left after the early dust objects of the galaxy gj3512b formed stars only formed the planet gj3512b? If so, it’s understandable that the planet is huge. You know, there are eight planets in the solar system, including the giant Jupiter. Although the size of the early Nebula in gj3512 galaxy is small, if there is only one planet, it would be normal if the mass of the planet is 150 times larger than that of the earth. Even a planet with the mass of Jupiter seems to be normal.

The bold conjecture put forward by the above friend seems to be reasonable. Yes, no one has stipulated that the number of planets formed in a stellar system must be in proportion to the number of main stars. There are eight planets in a galaxy like the solar system. If there is a star with the same mass as the sun, the number of planets in the galaxy may not necessarily be eight, but may be five or less. A small number of planets means that their mass and volume may be larger.

Some other friends put forward the theory of capture, believing that gj3512b may not be the planet formed by this galaxy, but a wandering planet from outside the galaxy, and inadvertently entered the galaxy to be captured by stars. This theory seems to have some truth.

In any case, existence is reasonable. There are too many things in the universe that are beyond our cognition. They are in line with the laws of science. The reason why we think it is unreasonable and incorrect is mainly because human science and technology are still very backward and their knowledge of the universe is very limited. Our current understanding of the universe is mainly through the observation of astronomical telescopes, and we can’t really carry out field survey, so we can’t get more accurate data and conclusions.

I believe that with the progress of human science and technology, after we have the ability to fly at the speed of light and beyond the speed of light in the future, the galaxies near the solar system will become the backyard of human beings. We can go to the field survey and get more accurate and correct answers. We are looking forward to that day.
