The earth’s position in the universe is very poor, far away from alien civilization, and there may be no hope to find it

When people walk out of the earth and see the vast universe, they will think of the same question: is there any alien civilization in the universe? Although we would like to say that there is only one civilization in the vast universe, most people dare not make such bold remarks in front of the universe, because many people understand in their hearts that alien civilization exists.

In order to prove the existence of alien civilization, we need to explore it. However, after nearly half a century of exploration, we still have not found any alien civilization. “Fermi paradox” shows such a paradox: A. aliens exist – scientific inference can prove that aliens evolved much earlier than human beings, and should have come to earth and existed somewhere. B. If there are alien civilizations, some of them are far more powerful than human beings. They may have come to the earth and come into contact with human beings. Scientists, of course, believe that alien civilizations exist, but why can’t we find them? Or have alien civilizations come to earth to make contact with human beings? Just imagine, if there is a huge spaceship coming to the solar system near the earth in outer space, there is no reason why we can’t find it with our present observation ability, but we haven’t found any spaceship coming to the earth now, isn’t it very strange?

So some scientists put forward another possibility, that is, the earth’s position in the universe is very poor, which is equivalent to the earth’s uninhabited desert forbidden area. I believe that no one is willing to explore the desert forbidden area without any interests or benefits. It’s the same with alien civilizations, and they won’t have to explore a galaxy with very poor resources.

So is the position of the earth in the universe really very poor? We can know by astronomical observation. The position of the solar system in the Milky way is a place called Orion cloud arm, which is about 25000 light-years away from the center of the Milky way, so it is a relatively remote place. As we all know, the galaxy exists because there is a supermassive black hole at its center, where the gravity is the most powerful in the galaxy.

Due to the gravitational effect of the galactic center, the closer the region is to the galactic center, the more stars there are. Therefore, we will observe an extremely bright region near the galactic center, indicating that there are very dense stars there, and the farther away from the galactic center, the less stars there are. The solar system is just at the edge of the Milky way, so there are very few stars near the solar system.

Less stars, less galaxies and less material resources. The development of a civilization is inseparable from the rich resources, so the number of civilizations in poor places will be very small. It is possible that there is only human civilization near the solar system. In our eyes, the Milky way is a very large galaxy, but if you look outside the Milky way, you will find that the Milky way also exists like dust.

The neighbor of the Milky way is Andromeda galaxy, which is only half the diameter of Andromeda galaxy. Naturally, the number of stars in Andromeda galaxy is far less than Andromeda galaxy. The Milky way and Andromeda are located in the same local cluster, in which the Milky way is only a small part of the rotation around its center. Above the local cluster is the Virgo supercluster.

The Milky Way Galaxy in Virgo supercluster is still very remote, also in an arm, very far away from the central region. It’s a stellar, resource poor region. The Virgo supergalaxy is not in the center of the larger cluster, but also in the edge. By analogy, we will find that the position of the Milky way is too far away in the observable universe.

The more remote the location, stars, galaxies, less resources, the probability of civilization is also small. Even if there are civilizations, their level of development is relatively low. Therefore, it is possible that the galaxy is just a civilization of human beings. It is also possible that although there are many civilizations, the development of its civilization strength is very slow, which may be similar to human beings, or only stronger than human beings.

If there is only one human civilization in the galaxy, we should not expect to discover alien civilizations before we are able to get out of the galaxy. But if the galaxy is not only a civilization of human beings, but because these civilizations have the same strength, they have not become real interstellar civilizations, so they have no ability to come to the solar system. Naturally, we can not really contact and communicate with alien civilizations.

In either case, it’s no doubt that the earth’s position in the universe is very poor. Because the observable range of the universe is only 92 billion light-years. And this range may only be the tip of the iceberg of the whole universe, so what is the position of human observable range in front of the whole universe? Is it in the central area or on the remote edge?

If the observable 92 billion light-years are at the center of the universe, there is still great hope that human beings will make efforts to contact with alien civilizations in the future. But if the observable area of 92 billion light years is also on the edge of the universe, it may be very difficult for human beings to contact with alien civilizations in the future. If the powerful civilization at the center of the universe can not determine the edge of the region and human beings, this civilization will not cross the distant interstellar space to the solar system.

If human beings want to cross this desperate distance, they need to exceed our speed, which is beyond the category of superluminal speed. Maybe only the space jumping mode in science fiction that can span tens of thousands of light years in a flash can do. However, such technology is too far away for human beings. Without the help of advanced civilization, relying on human exploration and research, it may not be possible to achieve it for billions of years.

In any case, the earth is in a relatively remote position, which is doomed by fate. Perhaps human beings will not be able to contact with alien civilizations for a long time in the future. When we have the ability of interstellar navigation, we can explore the whole galaxy to see if there is an alien civilization. If not, we can only rely on more advanced technology to go out of the galaxy and explore other galaxies.
