In the 1960s, with the help of science and technology, human beings finally walked out of the earth and began to explore the universe. For people who have just stepped out of the earth, the area we can explore is very limited. The first planet to be explored is the moon, and the first moon landing was realized in 1969.
After the first human landing on the moon, in addition to some lunar exploration and research, we also brought back some lunar soil and rocks when we returned to earth. As we all know, when scientists study the history of the earth, they often probe through rocks and so on.
Although time can destroy everything on the surface, the traces of history are often preserved in the rocks. By studying the rocks of the earth, we have some knowledge of the history of the earth. In the same way, we need to use the rocks and soil of the planet to study and explore the situation of other planets.
Scientists have discovered many secrets of the moon from some soil and rocks brought by the moon, which gives human beings a preliminary understanding of the moon. However, the moon is just a satellite of the earth. There is no big secret waiting for us to solve.
Scientists are most interested in the major planets in the solar system, and the two close neighbors around the earth are undoubtedly the targets of great concern to scientists. The first planet to be explored after human beings stepped out of the earth is Venus, which is closer to the earth. However, when the probe reached the orbit of Venus, it was found that it is very difficult to explore Venus with the existing human technology.
Venus’s environment is very bad, can be called a purgatory planet, the surface temperature is as high as 460 degrees Celsius, and the atmospheric pressure is also very strong, also often under acid rain. Venus can not be detected, scientists can only target on another planet, it is known as Mars.
The distance between Mars and earth is between 55 million km and 400 million km. If our probe is launched in the time window, it will take about 6-10 months to arrive. In order to explore Mars, scientists have launched dozens of probes to Mars in the past half century. Through the continuous efforts of these probes, we have learned a lot about Mars.
Nevertheless, if we want to really understand Mars, especially the history of Mars, we still need to use advanced instruments to carry out detailed exploration of Martian soil. To carry out this kind of exploration, it is obviously impossible to rely on the instruments carried on the Mars probe.
So, some people suggested that we should bring the soil on Mars back to earth for detailed research, but this proposal has not been recognized by many people. In the view of many people, it’s very dangerous to bring Martian soil back to earth. Scientists naturally agree with this view. So why don’t scientists dare to bring Martian soil back to earth?
Some people may say that it’s not that scientists don’t want to bring back Martian soil, but that our current technology can’t do it. Is that really the case? From the current strength of human space technology, it is really difficult for us to achieve the mission of bringing Martian soil back to earth.
Mars is different from the moon. It has an atmosphere and stronger gravity. Our probe can go to Mars, but it is not easy to go from Mars to earth. Although it is a little difficult to bring the Martian soil back to earth with the scientific and technological strength of human beings, it may not be completely impossible.
You know, scientists have planned to land a man on Mars in the near future and build a preliminary Mars base. The scientists’ plan shows that it is not far away for human beings to achieve the goal of going to and from Mars. It is possible that in the next 10 years, human beings will be able to carry out a manned landing on Mars.
So in the near future, when people can go to and from Mars, will scientists bring the Martian soil back to earth for detailed research? I’m afraid it’s impossible. I believe many friends can also think that there may still be simple microorganisms on Mars.
Our current understanding of Mars exploration has basically confirmed that Mars was a beautiful ecological planet long ago. Even now, there is water at the poles of Mars, and organic matter such as methane has also been found on Mars.
Scientists speculate that Mars may have been a planet of life, but later great changes have taken place. Most of the liquid water on the surface of Mars dissipates in space, and some of it may be stored under the surface of Mars. Complex life has very high requirements for the environment, once the ecological environment changes dramatically, it will disappear.
However, such a simple life as microorganisms, their survival ability is very strong, and they can survive in a variety of harsh environments. If life had existed on Mars a long time ago, there might still be microbes in the Martian soil today.
Microorganisms are ubiquitous small life on the earth. Although they are very small and at the bottom of the biological chain, they pose a great threat to human beings. Every year, bacteria and viruses infect humans. They are invisible to the naked eye. If they are not careful, they will enter the human body and cause some diseases.
Although the earth’s bacteria and viruses can bring a certain threat to human beings, because they are born and evolved on the basis of the earth’s ecological chain, human beings can still carry out some immunity and resistance to them, so as not to have catastrophic consequences.
However, life on Mars is different. The ecological environment of Mars is different from that of the earth. Under different ecological environment, the life born will evolve into different performance. Whether the life on Mars will bring disaster to the earth’s ecology and human beings is beyond our expectation.
Before we fully understand Martian life, bringing it back to earth will undoubtedly have very serious consequences. Therefore, even if human beings can return to earth from Mars in the future, they dare not bring the soil and rocks on Mars back to earth. To study the soil on Mars, they may put the soil brought back by the spacecraft on the space station for research.
Of course, it’s too early for us to discuss whether we can bring Martian soil back to earth for research. So far, human beings have not found any trace of life on Mars. To achieve this goal, we may have to wait for the willpower Mars probe launched by NASA this year to land on Mars next year.
Willpower Mars rover has more advanced exploration instruments, and its goal is to search for life that may exist in Martian soil. In any case, if Mars exists, it is not far away for human beings to discover them. Whether there is life on Mars is of great significance for what kind of exploration and transformation methods human beings will take for Mars in the future.
If there is no life on Mars, there will be less obstacles to Mars exploration and reconstruction. But if there is life on Mars, even the simplest microorganisms, the exploration and transformation of Mars will be more complicated, and more factors need to be considered.
In the future, the goal of Mars becoming the second livable planet will not change. With the continuous progress of human science and technology, it is not difficult to transform Mars. Maybe in the next century, Mars will have human cities built, at that time, some people will go to Mars to settle down and become Martians.
